Board Certified, Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon
Dr. David Rouben is a Louisville native who received his Doctorate of Medicine Degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine in 1977. After completing a general surgical internship at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX, he continued his specialty training at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, GA, an affiliate of the Medical College of Georgia.
Dr. Rouben then traveled to both Boston and Toronto to complete fellowships in joint reconstruction and spinal reconstruction respectively. Dr. Rouben spent an additional nine years teaching at the Georgia Baptist Medical Center before returning home to Louisville in 1992, where he has continued to practice orthopedic and adult spinal surgery. Dr. Rouben is one of few surgeons in the world to innovate the development of minimally invasive spine surgery. Patients from all over the country seek him out to solve their neck and back problems.
He also lectures and teaches new surgical techniques across the globe, helping both patients and other physicians to provide optimal outcomes. He is dedicated to helping patients regain a pain free life. As an established member of the medical community, Dr. Rouben has been practicing medicine for over 40 years. He has hospital privileges at Norton Downtown, Advanced Regional Surgical, Clark Memorial, and Physicians’ Medical center. He is a member of the Greater Louisville Medical Society and is licensed to practice in both Kentucky and Indiana.
